At Triple Eight, we take pride not just in moving freight, but in the people behind the wheel who make a real impact every day. Recently, one of our drivers, Gurpreet, went above and beyond, turning a frightening situation into a moment of safety and relief.
On a snowy Friday evening, Krystal, mom of two found herself & her family stranded on the Coquihalla Highway after hitting a pothole that bent their tire rim. With no spare, no cell service, and no immediate help nearby, the situation was stressful and dangerous.
That’s when Gurpreet, a long-term driver at Triple Eight Transport, noticed them. He safely stopped his semi-truck, positioned it to shield Krystal and her children from oncoming traffic, and turned on his flashers to alert other drivers. He radioed for help, signaled oncoming vehicles, and attempted to contact emergency services using his truck’s radio.
After about 30 minutes, a mechanic’s pickup arrived to assist with the tire. Even then, Gurpreet didn’t leave until he had safely escorted Krystal and her children all the way to Hope, BC, ensuring their journey continued without further risk.
It’s moments like these that show the true character of our team. Gurpreet’s actions exemplify courage, compassion, and professionalism qualities we value deeply at Triple Eight. We’re proud to have drivers who not only deliver freight safely but also make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
